Century Denim is a line of fabric introduced by Kapital in 2012 as a way to push the boundaries even further. The styles produced under this moniker reimagine original Levi's details like back cinches and donut buttons, with a unique and complex denim fabric.
Kapital employs four factories for the production of their Century Denim, each providing distinct advantages. This entails diverse spinning, dyeing, weaving, and finishing processes, executed with individualized precision for the fabric's benefit. As for the warp, weft, and sashiko threads, these are spun differentially to deliver distinct texture and tension before being separately rope-dyed. Finally, a secretive weaving method exclusively used by Kapital completes the process.
Century Denim No. 9 utilises dye from unripe persimmons and is then Sashiko stitched with Yeddo Hawthorne and Mud Dyed natural thread. Altogether the finished product is one with a unique fade which will make for a nice patina over time.
